OnePlus 3/3T receive final OxygenOS beta-update, stable ROM coming soon
OnePlus has rolled out the final Open Beta update for OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T smartphones. The OxygenOS Open Beta 39 and OxygenOS Open Beta 30 for the Oneplus 3 and 3T respectively, are the final builds before the stable update releases later this month. The update brings some new features and improvements for both the smartphones. Here's more about the update.
What's new in the update?
According to the changelog, there are some improvements in the OnePlus launcher and app drawer including improved search tags and a "New installs" category in the drawer. Additionally, it also brings an updated app list and adds the ability to scrub AAC audio files. The camera has also been optimized allowing for faster switching between the front and rear cameras.
Stable ROM will be available via OTA update
Users of both the devices, currently running the latest beta, will automatically get the stable ROM via an over-the-air update. However, those who are not running the beta version will need to flash the beta built onto the handset. Hence, a back up should be taken given a full data wipe will be required before updating from stable to this open beta.
Stable ROM update coming soon, confirms OnePlus
"We will provide a stable version of OnePlus 3/3T for beta testers to migrate back to stable version of OxygenOS later this month to ensure beta testers will receive regular Android security patch update and so on," said Manu J, Staff Member, Beta Program, OnePlus.
