OnePlus 12's display will be brighter than Pixel 8 Pro's
At the latest BOE conference event in China, OnePlus has given a sneak peek at its forthcoming flagship phone, the OnePlus 12, and revealed the device's display and chipset specifications to maintain the hype. The company showcased the latest OLED screen technology and even displayed a few OnePlus 12 models, though the rear camera module and complete design details were kept under wraps.
The handset features an "Oriental Screen"
The OnePlus 12 sports a large camera bump, a right-side alert slider, slim bezels encircling the display, and volume and power buttons on the left side. The front features a punch-hole display design, akin to earlier models. OnePlus mentions that the smartphone will include an "Oriental Screen" with OPPO's inaugural display chip "Display P1" and a high-precision pixel-level calibration algorithm to enhance image quality, brightness, and energy efficiency.
It will offer 2,600-nits of peak brightness
The OnePlus 12's display will support 2K resolution. Although the exact display size is unknown, images suggest that it may be a 6.7-inch LTPO panel. The screen will have a maximum brightness of 2,600-nits, which is slightly lower than the recently released OnePlus Open's 2,800-nits but better than flagships like Pixel 8 Pro (2,400-nits) and iPhone 15 Pro (2,000-nits) The company claims that the screen will last over twice as long as conventional displays and provide the "most eye-protective" experience.
A Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset will power the device
OnePlus has confirmed at the event that its latest flagship will be equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, corroborating earlier leaks about the chipset. The official launch date and additional details about the flagship phone are yet to be announced.
