OnePlus will reportedly launch a new 10-series handset dubbed the '10R' in the coming months. In the latest development, the design of the smartphone has surfaced online, courtesy of 91mobiles and tipster Yogesh Brar. The leaked renders give a clear look at the phone from different angles and substantiate earlier rumors about it looking like the Realme GT Neo 3.
Why does this story matter?
With the global release of the OnePlus 10 Pro nearing, news about another 10-series handset is making rounds. Dubbed '10R,' it will be the company's next affordable flagship. Although rumors were rife about the 10R's similarity to GT Neo 3, the leaked renders have left no room for doubt. It will be the first phone from the brand to have a centrally-positioned punch-hole.
The handset will not have the signature alert slider
The OnePlus 10R will feature a Realme GT Neo 3-like design with a centrally-aligned punch-hole cut-out, slim bezels, and an in-display fingerprint sensor. It will not sport an alert slider. On the rear, it will have a rectangular camera unit. The handset will pack a 6.7-inch Full-HD+ E4 AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, and Corning Gorilla Glass protection.
It will flaunt a 50MP main camera
The OnePlus 10R will be equipped with a triple rear camera arrangement, comprising a 50MP primary snapper, an 8MP ultra-wide shooter, and a 2MP macro lens. On the front, it will sport a 16MP selfie camera.
It will be backed by a MediaTek Dimensity 8100 chip
The OnePlus 10R will be fueled by a MediaTek Dimensity 8100 processor, mated with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. It is expected to have two iterations: a 4,500mAh battery variant with 150W fast-charging and a 5,000mAh battery model with 80W fast-charging. The handset will boot Android 12-based OxygenOS 12 out of the box.
OnePlus 10R: Pricing and availability
The official pricing and availability details of the 10R will be disclosed by OnePlus at the time of its launch. However, we expect it to start at around Rs. 35,000. It is expected to go official in May.
