OnePlus 10R's private testing begins in India; launch imminent
OnePlus is gearing up to launch a new 10-series smartphone, the 10R, sometime in Q2 of 2022. In the latest development, 91mobiles has reported that the phone has entered private testing in India ahead of its launch. It is codenamed "pickle." Previously, the alleged design of the rear panel of the 10R was brought to the spotlight by tipster Abhishek Yadav.
Why does this story matter?
OnePlus 10R is set to arrive as a successor to the OnePlus 9R. Like other R-series handsets, it should be limited to Asian markets as well. It will follow the 10 Pro, which should launch in India later in March. Although not much is known about the 10R, we can assume more details will soon come out, now that it has entered private testing.
The handset will feature a 120Hz AMOLED display
The OnePlus 10R is expected to feature a punch-hole design, slim bezels, and an in-display fingerprint sensor. On the rear, it may sport a rectangular camera unit. The handset is likely to bear a 6.55-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 20:9. It will offer a 120Hz refresh rate. It will be available in at least Green and Sandstone Black color options.
It will sport a single selfie camera
The OnePlus 10R is likely to be equipped with a quad rear camera module. However, details about the sensors are scarce as of now. On the front, it will have a single selfie snapper.
It will boot OxygenOS 12 based on Android 12
The OnePlus 10R will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset, coupled with at least 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Under the hood, it will run on Android 12-based OxygenOS 12 and house a 5,000mAh battery with 80W SuperVOOC fast-charging support. For connectivity, it should offer support for Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 5G, GPS, and a Type-C port.
OnePlus 10R: Pricing and availability
The official pricing and availability details of the OnePlus 10R will be announced at the time of its launch. However, we expect it to start at around Rs. 45,000. It will be introduced in the Q2 of 2022.
