Olympus Corporation is a Japanese optics and reprography products manufacturer, headquartered in Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan. It was established in October 1919, specializing in microscopes and thermometers. Then in 1936, it announced its first camera, the Semi-Olympus I, which came with the first Zuiku-branded lens. In 1983, Olympus and Canon branded a series of video-recording equipment manufactured by JVC and named it “Olympus Video Photography”.
