Ola joins hands with Lenovo to build India's biggest supercomputer
What's the story
Ola, the parent company of Krutrim AI, has partnered with Lenovo to build India's largest supercomputer.
The collaboration comes just a month after Ola's founder Bhavish Aggarwal promised an investment of ₹2,000 crore into his artificial intelligence (AI) venture.
The company also plans to invest ₹10,000 crore by next year, and is currently setting up an AI research lab and its own cloud infrastructure.

CIO announces supercomputer development
Speaking at the Lenovo TechWorld India 2025 event in Mumbai, Ola Group's Chief Information Officer (CIO) Navendu Agarwal announced their ambitious project.
He said, "We are building the largest infrastructure and again very proud to say along with Lenovo, we are building the largest supercomputer of India."
Ola's cloud will power this supercomputer. Agarwal also revealed that they are developing foundational models and their own chip.

Ola's team dedicated to full-stack AI development
Notably, Ola has put together a team of 700 employees to work solely on building its full-stack AI offerings.
Within its AI-first cloud, the company is working on different layers of applications including agentic platforms, contact center AI, manufacturing AI, etc.
This move clearly highlights Ola's focus on making strides in the field of artificial intelligence and bolstering its tech capabilities.

Ola's upcoming Krutrim 3 model
During a conversation with Lenovo's International Markets President Matthew Zielinski, Agarwal also revealed details about Ola's upcoming Krutrim 3 large language model.
The first model, Krutrim 1 was developed in late-2023 with a parameter count of seven billion. It trained the second model, Krutrim 2 on 12 billion parameters.
The upcoming Krutrim 3 will be built on an impressive parameter count of 700 billion and both previous models will be open-sourced.
