Gaming-centric Nubia Red Magic to launch for Rs. 30,000
China-based Nubia will launch its Red Magic gaming smartphone in India as early as November. The phone was unveiled in August at the IFA 2018, alongside the Nubia Alpha wearable concept smartphone. Nubia Red Magic: At a glance
Up front, the phone sports a traditional rectangular display with slim yet prominent bezels on the top and bottom. On the back, there's a distinct angular design with hexagonal cut-outs for the camera and fingerprint scanner, and a strip of RGB LED light. The Nubia Red Magic sports a 5.99-inch full-HD+ (1080x2160 pixels) LTPS TFT display with an 18:9 aspect ratio.
Under the hood
The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, paired with an Adreno 540 GPU, 6GB/8GB RAM, and 64GB/128GB of internal storage. The phone runs Android Oreo-based Nubia Red Magic OS and packs a 3,800mAh battery with in-house NeoPower 3.0 fast charging technology.
Camera specs and connectivity options
Nubia Red Magic sports a 24MP (f/1.7) rear camera with a 6-piece motor driven lens, an ISOCELL image sensor and an 8MP (f/2.0) front camera. Its connectivity options include dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11a/c, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/A-GPS, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Sensors onboard the phone include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, magnetometer, proximity sensor and rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
In India, Nubia Red Magic will launch under Rs. 30,000
Reportedly, the Nubia Red Magic will be priced under Rs. 30,000 in India. And this price mark is in line with the phone's China pricing. In Chinese markets, the Nubia Red Magic price starts at CNY 2,499 (approx. Rs. 26,400) for the 6GB RAM/64GB storage variant and goes up to CNY 2,999 (approx. Rs. 31,600) for the 8GB RAM/128GB storage model.
