OnePlus brings Jio VoWiFi support to these smartphones
OnePlus has started rolling out a new Oxygen OS update (version 10.3.1) that brings Jio VoWiFi calling support to the OnePlus 7, OnePlus 7 Pro, and OnePlus 7T Pro in India. The new firmware also comes with several improvements and general bug fixes including optimized RAM management as well as January 2020 Android security patch. Here are more details.
OnePlus brings VoWiFi support for Jio users
As mentioned before, the new Oxygen OS update integrates VoWiFi registration, for Jio users in India. Hence, all Jio subscribers, having a OnePlus 7, 7 Pro or 7T Pro, can enable Wi-Fi calling service on their handsets. Notably, Airtel's VoWiFi service is already available for these aforementioned handsets, as well as for the OnePlus 7T, OnePlus 6T, and OnePlus 6.
How to enable Jio Wi-Fi Calling on your device
To enable Jio's VoWiFi on your handset, go to Settings and search for Wi-Fi Calling and turn it on (you should see a VoWiFi icon in the status bar). Jio's service works on any Wi-Fi network, and without any additional cost.
The update also introduces several India-centric features
Alongside the network-based feature, the new firmware brings several system updates including optimized RAM management, reminder support for privacy alerts, and January Android security patch. For Indian users, the update also adds Cloud synchronization with Notes and Contact apps. Moreover, users also get a Cricket Scores card in the Shelf section for quick access to live match scores and team updates.
There is also a new Work-Life Balance mode
The Oxygen OS version 10.3.1 also adds an upgraded Work-Life Balance mode which, according to the official changelog, comes with optimized message notification, improved app selection, and added support for location, calendar, as well as auto-track feature.
