Nokia to announce 2018 smartphone lineup for Indian market
HMD Global is hosting an event on April 4 in New Delhi where it is expected to launch the Nokia 6 (2018), Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 8 Sirocco, and Nokia 8110 4G. These, along with Nokia 1, were globally launched at the MWC last month and were to arrive in India in April. The Nokia 1 has already been launched in India at Rs. 5,499.
Nokia 8 Sirocco features dual rear cameras, 2x optical zoom
The Nokia 8 Sirocco is HMD Global's new flagship smartphone and is the successor to last year's Nokia 8. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and runs the Android 8.0 Oreo OS. The device features a 5.5-inch pOLED display, 6GB RAM, 128GB internal storage, and 3,250mAh battery. It sports dual rear cameras with 12MP+13MP sensors and a 5MP front camera.
Nokia 7 Plus features 6-inch display, AI-powered camera
The Nokia 7 Plus also has 12MP+13MP dual rear cameras with 2X optical zoom. It features a 6-inch full HD+ screen, 4GB RAM, 64GB inbuilt storage, 16MP front camera, and 3,800mAh battery. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor and runs the Android 8.0 Oreo OS. The smartphone supports Face Unlock and AI imaging features like modifying lighting conditions and adding masks.
Nokia 6 (2018) features 5.5-inch display, 4GB RAM
The Nokia 6 (2018) is the newer model of the Nokia 6 (2017) smartphone. It features a 5.5-inch full-HD LCD display, 4GB RAM, 64GB internal storage, and 3,000mAh battery. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor and runs the Android 8.0 Oreo OS. The device has a 16MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera.
Nokia 8110 4G is a bright yellow, slider feature phone
The Nokia 8110 4G is the much loved "banana phone" which featured in the movie 'The Matrix.' It is a slider handset in a bright yellow shade that is now 4G-enabled. The "smart feature phone" runs Nokia's new Smart Feature OS and is powered by the Qualcomm 205 dual-core processor. It has a 2.4-inch curved display, 2MP rear camera, 512MB RAM, and 4GB storage.
All the phones support Google's Android One program
All the smartphones are a part of Google's Android One initiative, with support for faster, secure and timely updates for at least two years. While the Nokia 6 (2018) and the Nokia 7 Plus should come with mid-range pricing, the Nokia 8 Sirocco is expected to carry a premium price tag. The Nokia 8110 4G will be an entry-level phone.
