These Nokia smartphones could be launched in India today
As the latest addition to its portfolio of Nokia smartphones, HMD Global is expected to launch two new smartphones in India today. One of the models could be Nokia 9 PureView (featuring five cameras) which was unveiled back in February while the second model remains a bit of mystery as of now. Here's what you can expect from the event.
Details about the Nokia launch event
The Nokia event is scheduled to kick off at 11.30 am IST in New Delhi today. Notably, the company has not offered live streaming links for the event but you can follow the Nokia Mobile India Twitter account for launch updates.
Nokia 9 PureView: Expected to be priced at Rs. 40,000
Nokia 9 PureView will arrive as the company's most expensive offering till date. The flagship model features a conventional 5.99-inch Quad-HD+ with sizeable bezels, IP67-rated glass body, and an in-screen fingerprint sensor. It runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, combined with 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage. Under the hood, the phone packs a 3,320mAh battery with wireless charging support.
Nokia 9 PureView offers a novel penta rear camera setup
Nokia 9 PureView features a five camera setup, comprising 12MP (f/1.8) sensors which include three monochrome and two RGB sensors. Each sensor captures a shot which is then merged to create a more detailed final image. Up front, the phone sports a 20MP selfie snapper.
The second Nokia phone will feature a notched display
Alongside the Nokia 9 PureView, the company is expected to launch a new model as well. Several teasers have confirmed that this mystery phone will come with a waterdrop notched display, a dedicated Google Assistant button, and face unlock support - similar to the recently launched Nokia 3.2 and Nokia 4.2 models.
