Nokia G42's 8GB RAM variant launched at Rs. 17,000
Nokia is now offering the G42 smartphone in a new configuration with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. The company had unveiled the handset in India last month. The latest 8GB/256GB model is priced at Rs. 16,999 and comes in a newly introduced 'So Pink' colorway. The Nokia G42 sports a triple rear camera setup, a 5,000mAh battery, and supports 5G. Plus, Nokia guarantees two years of software updates for the device.

Nokia G42 boasts a 6.56-inch IPS LCD screen with an HD+ resolution of 720x1612 pixels and a 90Hz refresh rate. It draws power from a Qualcomm Snapdragon 480+ chipset. The handset has a triple rear camera module with a primary 50MP sensor, 2MP macro lens, and 2MP depth sensor. Up front, there's an 8MP shooter. It comes in two options: 6GB+128GB and the new 8GB+256GB variant. Both configurations provide virtual RAM support of up to 5GB and 8GB, respectively.
Connectivity and additional features
The Nokia G42 supports 5G connectivity, GPS, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and FM Radio. However, unlike the European version, the Indian variant does not include NFC. The device also features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and an IP52 rating for splash resistance. The handset is powered by a 5,000mAh battery that supports 20W fast charging. It boots Android 13 out of the box.

The base model of Nokia G42 with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage is priced at Rs. 11,999. Shoppers can choose from three colors: So Grey, So Purple, and Pink. The new 8GB/256GB version costs Rs. 16,99 and will be available starting October 18. The base model can be purchased right away via Amazon, Nokia's online, and partner retail stores.
