Nokia 9 leak shows a curved display, five rear-cameras
Considering the innovation of pop-up camera and the upgrade from dual rear-camera to triple, in today's smartphone wars, camera is the only battlefield left. And to set new benchmarks, HMD Global is upping the ante with its Nokia 9 which has been leaked in live images once again. The new pictures confirm its one-of-a-kind penta-camera and highlight a curved display. Here's everything we know.
Nokia 9: At a glance
Some new live images of an alleged Nokia 9, shared on Weibo, showcase an edge-to-edge curved display with slimmer top and bottom bezels. These live images also reiterate the novel five-camera setup which may be housed in a glass panel to enable wireless charging. Moreover, the phone is expected to feature a 6.01-inch screen and pack an in-display fingerprint sensor.
The leak also tips off Nokia 9's camera specs
The Weibo post claims that the five-camera setup on Nokia 9 comprises two 12-MP sensors with OIS, two 16-MP sensors, and a fifth 8-MP sensor. The post further claims that the phone will have a 12-MP selfie snapper. Notably, the camera array appears flush with the back panel, shows ZEISS branding, and comes with a flash module and possibly an IR-based focusing sensor.
What else do we know about Nokia 9?
The latest leak claims that Nokia 9 will be offered in two storage options of 64GB and 256GB along with 6GB RAM. Further, the phone is expected to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor and come in single SIM and dual-SIM variants. Interestingly, a previous leak suggested that Nokia 9 will pack 4,150mAh battery and will arrive under Google's Android One program.
Nokia 9: Launch and availability
Previously, Nokia 9 was said to launch in September 2018 itself. However, that's definitely not happening. Reportedly, HMD Global is facing some production issues with the penta-camera setup and has, therefore, delayed the launch. However, a safe guess would be late 2018 or early next year. Lastly, the Weibo leak states that Nokia 9 will be priced at CNY 4,799 (approx Rs. 50,600).
