Nokia 9 with 5-cameras could be launched in September itself
Days after a concept render highlighted a penta-camera setup on Nokia 9, a new leak has claimed that the phone may be launched in September itself. Nokia 9, the successor to Nokia 8, is rumored to feature a notch-based display, a five-camera setup on the back, 4,150mAh battery and will arrive as part of the Android One program. Here's everything we know so far.
Why was the delay though?
Citing sources familiar with the matter, NokiaPowerUser has claimed that Nokia 9 may be launched in September this year. Earlier, following some production issues with the penta-camera setup, HMD Global had delayed the launch. Notably, the phone had passed MIIT certification in China back in May this year, and had entered production in August.
Nokia 9: At a glance
Up front, the Nokia 9 is likely to feature a notch based display with ultra-small bezels on the sides and a slimmer-yet-noticeable bottom chin. On the back, the phone is expected to have a glass back that will house the five-camera setup and a flash module. Further, previous reports had suggested that Nokia 9 will get a 6.01-inch display with Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
About the penta-camera setup on Nokia 9
Additionally, a hands-on image of an alleged Nokia 9 was leaked in China. The image shows a one-of-its-kind camera array with 5 lenses, a flash module and possibly an IR focusing equipment. Moreover, the image shows ZEISS branding, meaning the camera optics would be premium. Further, all camera cut-outs on Nokia 9 appear to be flush with the screen rather than being protruding.
What else do we know about Nokia 9?
Nokia 9 is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The phone would run Android Pie under the Android One program. Further, a leak suggests the phone will pack a 4,150mAh non-removable battery and may come with an in-display fingerprint sensor.
