HMD Global launches Nokia 5310 feature phone for music lovers
As the latest addition to the list of resurrected classic Nokia phones, brand licensee HMD Global has launched the Nokia 5310. The handset is inspired by the original Nokia 5310 Xpress Music that arrived back in 2007. It features the iconic candy bar design and attracts buyers with dual-SIM support, stereo speakers, and up to 7.5 hours of talk time on a single charge.
Nokia 5310: At a glance
Design-wise, the Nokia 5310 surely looks like a phone from the early 2000s. It has a candy bar form-factor wherein half the space is covered by a 2.4-inch QVGA non-touch screen and half taken by a T9 keyboard. It also gets dual front-facing speakers, a plastic body, a rear-mounted VGA camera, and three dedicated buttons on the right-side of the screen for controlling music.
The handset doesn't even support 3G network
The Nokia 5310 doesn't support 4G or 3G networks and hence you cannot really use it for downloading stuff or streaming videos. However, you can always listen to some music thanks to the built-in MP3 Player and FM Radio.
Here's a look at its specifications
The new Nokia 5310 is powered by a MediaTek MT6260A chip, paired with 8MB RAM and 16MB storage that is expandable up to 32GB via a microSD card. Under the hood, it runs on Nokia Series 30+ software and packs a 1,200mAh removable battery that offers a talk time of up to 7.5 hours and up to 30 days of standby time.
Pricing and availability
The Nokia 5310 is priced at €39 (approx Rs. 3,110) and will go on sale in European markets later this month. As for its availability in India, there is no official word yet but the handset could arrive in the coming months.
