Nokia 5.1 Plus may come with notched display, dual-rear cameras
While other smartphone manufacturers got on to the 'notch' bandwagon pretty early, HMD Global-owned Nokia was a little late to the party. However, in May, the company launched its first notch-based phone, the Nokia X6. And now, it is working to launch yet another notch-based smartphone, the Nokia 5.1 Plus - a higher-end variant of the recently launched Nokia 5.1. Here's a sneak peek.
Nokia 5.1 Plus: At a glance
According to leaked renders, the Nokia 5.1 Plus looks like a cross between Nokia X6 and Nokia 5.1. The device is said to feature a 5.7-inch notch-based display which is likely to have an aspect ratio of 19:9. These renders, which are based on factory CAD drawings, also reveal that Nokia 5.1 Plus may sport a metal body, much like Nokia X6.
Renders suggest Nokia 5.1 Plus will get dual-rear cameras
According to the leaks, Nokia 5.1 Plus will get a dual-rear camera setup and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. However, camera specs are not known as of now. Further, the phone may also come equipped with a USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack. AS per earlier rumors, Nokia 5.1 is expected to be powered by mid-range MediTek Helio P23 chipset.
HMD Global may unveil Nokia 5.1 Plus on August 31
Given Nokia 5.1 was launched just recently, it is unlikely that HMD Global will introduce the higher-end Nokia 5.1 Plus anytime soon. However, if one has to go by rumors, the company may unveil the phone at IFA 2018, which starts from August 31.
