HMD Global launches Nokia 220 4G, Nokia 105 feature phones
After successfully resurrecting Nokia as one of the leading smartphone makers, brand licensee HMD Global is now working to revive the feature phones' space. And, the latest models to arrive in a refreshed avatar are the Nokia 105 and Nokia 220, with latter getting 4G support as well. The new feature phones will go on sale in Europe next month. Nokia 220 4G and Nokia 105: At a glance
The new Nokia 220 4G comes as the successor to the Nokia 220 which debuted in 2014 while the updated Nokia 105 is the fourth generation version of the original handset that came out in 2013. Both the refreshed handsets feature a Candybar style design with a small display, a tactile T9 keypad, removable plastic back panel, FM Radio and an LED torch light.
Here are the specifications of Nokia 220 4G
The Nokia 220 4G comes with a 2.4-inch QQVGA (120x160 pixels) color screen and runs on Nokia Series 30+ OS. It gets a micro-USB 2.0 port, Nano-SIM card slot (dual-SIM in select markets), 4G support with 2G fallback option, Bluetooth 4.2, and a VGA camera on the rear with LED flash. The phone also offers a 1,200mAh battery, headphone jack, and a single speaker.
What do you get from the Nokia 105
The new Nokia 105 features a 1.77-inch QQVGA (120x160 pixels) color display and runs on Nokia Series 30+ OS. It also comes with a micro-USB port, 2G connectivity, headphone jack, Mini-SIM slot (dual-SIM support in select regions) and 800mAh battery.
Pricing and availability
The Nokia 105 costs 13 euros (approx. Rs. 1,000) and it will be available starting August in Blue, Pink, and Black colors. The more spec-rich Nokia 220 4G is priced at 39 euros (roughly Rs. 3,000) and it will go on sale beginning mid-August in Blue and Black colors. The phones are expected to first release in Europe, and then come to other markets.
