Nokia 1 running Oreo (Go Edition) launched at Rs. 5,499
First announced at the MWC in February this year, the Nokia 1 phone by HMD Global has finally come to India for Rs. 5,499. The key aspects of the phone are that it runs Android 8.1 Oreo (Go Edition) and that its color can be customized using the Xpress-on two-tone polycarbonate interchangeable covers. This is reportedly the company's most affordable handset so far.
Xpess-on interchangeable covers for Nokia 1 priced at Rs. 450
While the phone is available in warm red and dark blue color variants, the Xpress-on covers are available in the pairs of azure and grey and yellow and pink. The Nokia 1 will start selling from March 28 across mobile phone outlets in the country, and the dual-tone, interchangeable covers will start selling from April at a price of Rs. 450.
Nokia 1 has 4.5-inch display, 5MP rear camera
The dual-SIM phone features a 4.5-inch display, 2MP front camera, 5MP rear camera, 1GB RAM, and 8GB inbuilt storage (expandable up to 128GB). It has a removable 2,150mAh battery, which can reportedly deliver up to nine hours of talk time. The feature phone is powered by a 1.1GHz quad-core MediaTek processor and is HMD Global's first phone to run Android Oreo (Go Edition).

Reliance Jio users can get a cashback of Rs. 2,200 on the phone. On opening a Kotak 811 savings account, customers can avail a 12-month Accidental Damage Insurance on the phone. Finally, Nokia 1 users get a 20% discount on their first RedBus booking.
Android Go optimized for phones with 1GB RAM or less
Android Go is an operating system which is optimized for low-end budget phones with 1GB of RAM or less. It runs the lightweight version of Google apps like Gmail Go, Google Maps Go, and YouTube Go. India recently got its first Android Oreo (Go edition) phone with the Lava Z50 which is priced at Rs. 4,400.
