NewsBytes Briefing: Twitter won't block politicians unless Trump, and more

    What's the story

While Twitter found it easy to engineer regime change in the USA, India is proving to be a lot more resilient.

After encouraging conspiracy theories accusing PM Modi of planning genocides, Twitter was gently nudged into corrective action by the Indian government.

However, it now maintains that it won't ban Indian politicians committing essentially the same things for which it nuked Trump off the platform.

    Nice try

Twitter wants to give people back the illusion of control

In related news, Twitter is toying with the idea of giving people back the control of their newsfeeds, now that America has been saved by...well, let's just quote Time Magazine here:

"...a well-funded cabal of powerful people, ranging across industries and ideologies, working together behind the scenes to influence perceptions, change rules and laws, steer media coverage and control the flow of information."

    Biden time

Huawei CEO denies company's sale rumors

Looks like rumor mongers haven't got the memo. Donald Trump is no longer the US President. Heck, he isn't even allowed to be on the internet.

His successor, affectionately known as Beijing Biden by certain sections in the US, has already revealed that he will not be following Trump's anti-China policies.

It's absurd to sell the company when the tides have finally turned.

    Dead batteries

Some MacBook Pro users join the one percent club

While the plebs still hang onto their MacBook Airs, one has to be pretty well-off to afford a MacBook Pro. Some MacBook Pro users, however, have found themselves in the elusive one percent club.

As in, their laptop batteries aren't charging past the one percent mark. If you are one of the lucky few, Apple is offering free battery replacement. Welcome to the club.

    Deepfakes

These scientists have just put Project Veritas out of business

Speaking of things that don't work, scientists have figured out how to fool deepfake detectors.

However, this cuts both ways. If you can't prove them fake, you can't prove their authenticity either. Video evidence has just been canceled.

In other words, rogue politicians and other powerful individuals can now go about their illegal activities without fear of being exposed.
