Now, an app can visualize sugar present in your drink
People suffering from diabetes tend to keep track of their eating habits and sugar intake. It's a common practice, but often, you can find yourself in situations when there is no way to know how much sugar is present in a drink. A man in Japan faced a similar problem and developed his own app to tackle the problem. Here are the details.
App to detect sugar levels in drinks
Daiki Shimizu wanted a way to visualize the level of sugar present in a drink but noted that brand labels do not offer clear information. So, using his coding skills, the man came up with an app that scans the barcode featured on the label of a drink and immediately provides the amount of sugar present in it - in grams.
It literally shows how much sugar is present
Though there are apps that can scan barcodes and pull up the nutritional value, Shimizu's product visualized the information. Simply put, his app gives the exact number of sugar cubes that are there in the drink that you are about to have. Now, this can come handy and help you make better decisions in terms of choosing or avoiding any beverage.

No word on availability yet
Goes without saying, this app can be useful for those suffering from diabetes. But, the sad part is, it is not available for download at the moment. Shimizu says he had developed the app more than a year ago and is now awaiting Apple's approval for making it available on the App Store. There is no word yet on Play Store release either.
