Motorola X50 Ultra debuts with flagship hardware, AI features
Motorola has launched its latest premium smartphone, the X50 Ultra, in China. This new model is essentially a rebranded version of the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra released recently in Europe, featuring an identical design and hardware. On a related note, the Edge 50 Ultra's Indian release is imminent as it was recently spotted on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website.

The Motorola X50 Ultra boasts a 6.67-inch Full-HD+ (1220x2712 pixels) curved pOLED display, with a 144Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ certification, and 2,500-nits peak brightness. Additionally, it includes an under-screen fingerprint reader and Gorilla Glass Victus protection for enhanced durability. In terms of design, the phone features a wooden/eco-leather back panel held together by an aluminium frame. It carries an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.
It packs a 64MP (OIS) telephoto camera
The Motorola X50 Ultra boasts a triple rear camera setup that includes a 50MP (OIS) main, 50MP ultra-wide, and 64MP (OIS) telephoto camera with 3x zoom. Up front, there's a 50MP camera housed in a center-aligned punch-hole cutout.
Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip powers the device
The Motorola X50 Ultra operates on Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip, and offers up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB UFS 4.0 storage. Powering the device is a 4,500mAh battery that supports 125W wired and 50W wireless charging. On the software front, it runs Android 14-based Hello UI. Connectivity features include ultra-wideband (UWB), Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, Type-C (v3.1, Gen2), GPS, and NFC. The phone includes Lenovo's Xiaotian AI assistant and AI PC collaboration tool compatible with Lenovo laptops.
What about the pricing?
The Motorola X50 Ultra comes in three variants, with prices starting from CNY 3,999 (nearly ₹47,000) for the 12GB/256GB variant. Buyers can grab it in Forest Grey, Nordic Wood, and Peach Fuzz color options. In the Indian market, we expect it to be priced at around ₹55,000.
