Motorola's foldable RAZR to be launched on March 16
Motorola is all set to launch its foldable RAZR phone in India on March 16, as it looks to take on Samsung's Z Flip which is already selling like hot cakes in the country. The premium handset was launched in November last year and debuted in the US in February. As for highlights, it comes with a dual-screen foldable design and mid-level internals.
Motorola RAZR: At a glance
The Motorola RAZR revives the iconic flip-phone design, offering a main flexible internal screen and a secondary display on the outside. However, it is not concern-free. The handset did fairly okay in JerryRigEverything's durability test except for the main plastic screen which got easily damaged with a fingernail. The RAZR also failed iFixit's repairability test, scoring a disappointing 1 on 10.
Dual screens, dual cameras
Meanwhile, the handset comes with a 6.2-inch flexible OLED panel with HD+ (2142x876 pixels) resolution and a 21:9 aspect ratio. On the outside, there is a 2.7-inch Quick View display for accessing notifications, music, and calls. For photography and video, the premium device offers a single 16MP (f/1.7) main camera and a basic 5MP selfie camera housed in the notch of the internal screen.
Under the hood
The Motorola RAZR is powered by a mid-range Snapdragon 710 processor, paired with 6GB of RAM, and 128GB of built-in storage. Under the hood, the handset packs a 2,510mAh battery with 15W fast charging. In terms of connectivity options, it gets support for NFC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, and a Type-C port for charging and audio output. It also has a physical fingerprint reader.
How much will it cost in India?
Motorola will reveal the pricing and availability details of the RAZR in India on March 16. However, considering it costs $1,500 in the US, we can expect a Rs. 1,10,000 price tag in India. For reference, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip costs Rs. 1,09,999.
