Motorola RAZR 50 design, key specs revealed ahead of launch
Motorola's upcoming foldable smartphone, the RAZR 50, has received certification from China's regulatory body TENAA. The certification listing reveals design changes for the new model, including a larger cover display for the vanilla RAZR model. The rest of the design appears to be identical to last year's RAZR 40, with only the cover display being different. The device will feature a 3.6-inch cover display with an OLED panel and a resolution of (1056x1066) pixels.
Inner display and battery specifications
The Motorola RAZR 50 will feature a folding OLED display measuring 6.9-inch. This screen will boast a Full-HD+ resolution of 1080x2640 pixels and a refresh rate of 120Hz. Powering the device will be a robust battery with a capacity of 3,950mAh. It is also expected to support fast charging at up to 33W. The dimensions are listed as 171.3x73.9x7.2mm, and the handset weighs in at approximately 188g, per the TENAA certification.
Camera and security features
The Motorola RAZR 50 will come with a dual camera system, including a primary shooter of 50MP and a secondary camera of 13MP, likely an ultra-wide-angle lens. A 32MP camera will be housed in a centered punch-hole notch on the folding display. For security purposes, the clamshell foldable smartphone will feature a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
Processor and memory options
The TENAA listing indicates that the Motorola RAZR 50 will be powered by an octa-core processor with a peak frequency of 2.5GHz. While not confirmed, rumors suggest this could be the MediaTek Dimensity 7300X processor, which is yet to debut The handset will offer memory options of either 8GB, 12GB, or 16GB RAM and storage options ranging from 128GB up to 1TB.
