Motorola to soon launch Android One-based One Action smartphone
As the latest addition to its Android One-based One series of smartphones, Motorola is working to launch a new handset. Dubbed as One Action, it is said to arrive as an affordable variant of the One Vision. In the latest development, the phone has received key certification in Thailand and is expected to arrive in international markets including India, soon. Here's our roundup.
Motorola One Action to borrow One Vision's design language
According to leaked renders, the Motorola One Action will look like the One Vision with a punch hole display and prominent bottom bezel. However, on the rear, it will offer a plastic casing instead of glass. Further, the phone will sport a 6.3-inch LCD display with a resolution of 2520 x 1080 pixels which translates to a Cinemascope aspect ratio of 21:9.
One Action to offer a triple rear camera setup
The Motorola One Action will offer a triple lens rear camera setup as against the dual camera unit on the One Vision. Reportedly, the camera array will include a 12.6MP main sensor along with a wide-angle "Action Cam" having a 117-degree field-of-view. The third sensor is expected to offer depth sensing capabilities. Up front, the phone is likely to offer a 12.6MP selfie snapper.
Under the hood
The Motorola One Action, as per leaks, will be powered by a Samsung-sourced Exynos 9609 chipset, paired with a Mali G72 GPU, upto 6GB RAM and upto 128GB of storage. Under the hood, it will house a 3,500mAh battery which will support 15W Turbo fast-charging. Lastly, as part of the Android One program, the phone will run Android Pie out-of-the-box.
Pricing and availability
In the past few weeks, the One Action has been spotted on key certification and benchmarking platforms. Further, considering Motorola is working to launch the device in Thailand, we can expect it to bring the handset to other markets pretty soon. Now, going by the design and specifications, in India, the One Action should arrive under Rs. 20,000.
