Moto RAZR renders reveal foldable design, retail box also spotted
Motorola's iconic RAZR phone is all set to make a grand comeback. So far, a couple of leaks have given away key details about the foldable design, specifications, and software of the new device. In the latest development, press renders of Moto RAZR have leaked, reiterating the foldable design and revealing its purported retail box as well as the accessories. Here's everything to know.
Firstly, here's a look at Motorola RAZR's foldable design
As per leaked renders, the reincarnated Moto RAZR will be a dual-screen folding phone, somewhat like Samsung's Galaxy Fold. However, unlike the Fold, which opens as a book, the RAZR will open vertically like a flip phone. Moreover, the external shell is likely to house a single camera while the internal flexible display will have a small iPhone X-like notch.
Everything we know about the features of Moto RAZR
As far as its features are concerned, the external, "closed display" on the RAZR won't have full access to all Android features. Instead, it will support some pre-installed apps like Moto Display, Moto Actions, and Moto Camera. Moreover, upto 6 Quick Setting tiles will be displayed on the external display, but it's unclear if users will be able to scroll to see more tiles.
Details about the reported specifications of Moto RAZR
Now, as per leaks, the Moto RAZR will sport a 6.2-inch flexible OLED display with a resolution of 876 x 2142 pixels. Some reports also suggest that the phone will be powered by a mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chipset as against the rumored Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 flagship processor. Lastly, it is likely to offer 6GB RAM, 128GB of storage and a 2,730mAh battery.
Moto RAZR's retail box and accessories have also been leaked
As seen in the freshly leaked press renders, the Moto RAZR will come in a triangular prism-like box. The box will have a bunch of black colored accessories including a wall charger, a USB Type-C cable, a pair of headphones, and a USB-C to 3.5mm audio adapter. The presence of this adapter suggests that the phone will not have a headphone jack.
Moto RAZR could be priced at around $1,500
Regarding the launch of its first foldable phone, Motorola VP of Global Product Dan Dery had earlier confirmed that the company had "no intention of coming later than everybody else in the market." Hence, we can expect Moto RAZR to arrive sometime later this year. Further, as for pricing, the Wall Street Journal has reported that the phone could be priced at around $1,500.
