Moto P40 to feature 48MP camera, Snapdragon 675 claims leak
Lenovo-owned Motorola is working to launch its latest mid-range smartphone, the P40. Recently, OnLeaks and 91Mobiles collaborated to reveal the phone's all-new in-screen camera design in high-quality renders. And now, a tipster has leaked the full specifications of the Motorola P40. As per the tip-off, the phone will feature a 48MP camera, Snapdragon 675 chipset and run Android Pie out-of-the-box. Here's everything we know.
Here's the leak that reveals P40's specifications
Like others, Moto P40 will also adopt in-screen camera design
The in-screen camera design, which looks to replace the notch trend, is gaining popularity rather quickly. We have already seen Samsung Galaxy A8s, Honor View 20 (V20), and Nova 4 sport this punch-hole setup for the front camera. And joining these new smartphones, we now have Motorola P40 which will feature a selfie camera hole on the top left corner of the screen.
Motorola P40 will come with a headphone jack, USB Type-C
As seen in the high-quality renders, the Motorola P40 will come with a headphone jack positioned on the top edge of the phone. At the bottom, it will house a USB Type-C port, a speaker grille, and a hole for the microphone.
Motorola P40: All about the screen
As per the leak, Motorola P40 will sport a 6.2-inch IPS display with HD+ resolution. However, we expect to see a full-HD+ resolution given P40's predecessor had 1080 x 2246 pixels resolution. Further, with the new design, the phone should offer an increased screen-to-body ratio. On the back, P40 will have a 3D curved panel with the fingerprint scanner concealed in the Moto logo.
Motorola P40 to feature AI-powered 48MP rear camera
The leak claims that Motorola P40 will sport a dual-rear camera setup comprising a 48MP (f/1.75) main sensor, coupled with a 5MP secondary sensor and dual-LED flash module. Moreover, the main camera would offer AI-driven photography features such as Portrait mode, Scene detection, and others. Up front, the phone is said to come with an AI-powered 12MP (f/1.8) selfie camera.
The phone is tipped to come with Snapdragon 675 chipset
As per the leak, the Motorola P40 will be powered by the all-new 11nm octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 processor, paired with 6GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of internal storage. The phone is also tipped to support NFC, pack a solid 4,132mAh battery and run Android Pie out-of-the-box. Moreover, we expect the P40 to support 802.11 a/c, Bluetooth 5.0, and 4G VoLTE.
