Motorola releases Android 10 update for G8 Play
Motorola has started rolling out the Android 10 update for its G8 Play model in Brazil. It is similar to the one released for the One Macro phone in India last month. The firmware brings features like Dark Mode, Smart Reply, improved navigation gestures, as well as enhanced privacy and security. It also bumps the Android security patch on the device to December 2020.

The update carries the version number QMD30.47-19 and has a download size of around 1.46GB. It is being released in a staged manner via over-the-air method. Users can manually check for the firmware by going to Settings >System update.

The Moto G8 Play features a plastic body with a waterdrop notch and a noticeable bottom bezel. On the rear, it houses a triple camera unit and a physical fingerprint sensor. The handset bears a 6.2-inch HD+ (720x1520 pixels) IPS LCD screen with an aspect ratio of 19:9. It is offered in Black Onyx and Magenta Red color options.

The Moto G8 Play is equipped with a triple rear camera setup comprising a 13MP (f/2.0) main sensor, an 8MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP (f/2.2) depth shooter. For selfies and video calling, it offers an 8MP front-facing snapper.

The Moto G8 Play draws power from an octa-core MediaTek Helio P70 chipset, combined with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage. Under the hood, it packs a 4,000mAh battery. In terms of connectivity, the handset offers support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, a headphone jack, LTE, FM Radio, and a Type-C port.
