#LeakPeek: Moto G7, G7 Plus to sport waterdrop notch, dual-cameras
Lenovo-owned Motorola is working on Moto G7 series smartphones that will succeed this year's Moto G6 range. In the latest update, alleged press renders of the Moto G7 and Moto G7 Plus have leaked, revealing key design elements and other features. As per the renders, both the phones will sport a waterdrop-like display notch and a dual rear-camera setup. Here's everything we know.
Moto G7 series to sport an all-new design, waterdrop notch
In the world of smartphones, the notch is the new normal. And following in the footsteps of Vivo and OPPO, Motorola has adopted a waterdrop-like cut-out for its upcoming mid-range G7 smartphones. Leaked renders suggest both G7 and G7 Plus will sport the new design, allowing for a higher screen-to-body ratio. However, their bottom bezel appears chunky - unlike OPPO and Vivo smartphones.
Both Moto G7 and G7 Plus will sport dual rear-camera
According to renders, both Moto G7 and G7 Plus will sport a dual rear-camera setup with horizontally stacked sensors and a LED flash module. Just below the camera module, there's a Motorola logo which will conceal the fingerprint scanner - something we've seen on Moto E5, E5 Plus. Seemingly, both the phones have a glass back panel but wireless charging capability is still unconfirmed.
Moto G7 series will retain the 3.5mm headphone jack
In the G7 series, Motorola is expected to launch four smartphones - Moto G7, Moto G7 Plus, Moto G7 Play and Moto G7 Power. And according to the leak, Moto G7 is expected to come with a headphone jack and USB Type-C port. This suggests we can expect these connectivity options on other Moto G7 series handsets as well.
Everything we know about the Moto G7
According to a previous leak, Moto G7 is rumored to sport a 6.4-inch full-HD+ (1080x2340 pixels) display, a 16MP+5MP dual rear-camera, and a 12MP selfie snapper. It expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor, paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Further, the G7 could pack a 3,500mAh with Turbo Charge fast charging and run Android Pie out-of-the-box.
