Moto Edge 50 Ultra with real wood-back revealed: Check features
Motorola has introduced its latest smartphone, the Moto Edge 50 Ultra. This new model is not a successor but an enhancement of the previously released Edge 50 Pro. The standout feature of the Ultra model is its unique real woodback option and two vegan leather color variants - Forest Gray and Peach Fuzz, which is Pantone's Color of the Year for 2024.
It has a high-resolution P-OLED display
The Moto Edge 50 Ultra features a curved 6.7-inch P-OLED display with a resolution of (2,712x1,220pixels). The display operates at a high refresh rate of 144Hz and has a touch sampling rate of up to 360Hz in gaming mode. It peaks at an impressive brightness of 2,500-nits and uses DC dimming. Furthermore, the device supports HDR10+ and is certified for HD streaming from Netflix and Amazon.
The device features an enhanced camera setup
The Moto Edge 50 Ultra comes with a significantly improved camera setup compared to its predecessor. The main module is a large 50MP sensor, complemented by a powerful periscope camera with a 64MP sensor and bright f/2.4 aperture. Additionally, the device includes a 50MP ultra-wide camera, and uses a laser autofocus system along with a three-in-one sensor for exposure, flicker detection, and auto white balance.
AI integration enhances camera capabilities
Artificial intelligence (AI) has been integrated into the Moto Edge 50 Ultra to further enhance its camera capabilities. The AI system automatically adjusts shutter speed and stabilization based on the scene while also handling autofocus tracking. Additionally, the all-new Photo Enhancement Engine optimizes images for detail in shadows and highlights, color, clarity, and bokeh effect.
Handset boasts superior processing power
The Moto Edge 50 Ultra is equipped with a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, a significant upgrade from the 7 Gen 3 processor used in the Pro model. This device offers increased RAM options of either 12GB or 16GB (both LPDDR5X), with additional availability via RAM boost. Storage options for this smartphone are 512GB or a whopping 1TB (UFS 4.0), providing ample space for apps, media, and files.
It offers a robust build and fast-charging
Motorola Edge 50 Ultra is built around an aluminum frame with Gorilla Glass Victus on the front, featuring an anti-fingerprint coating. It has been rated IP68 for dust as well as water resistance. The device houses a 4,500mAh battery that supports 125W TurboPower charging over USB, and 50W wireless charging. According to Motorola, a four-minute charge can power the phone for the rest of the day.

The Moto Edge 50 Ultra supports both single-SIM (SIM/eSIM) and dual-SIM (SIM and eSIM) configurations. It is compatible with Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) and Bluetooth 5.4. The device's Type-C port offers both USB 3.2 and DisplayPort 1.4 connectivity, providing users with a variety of options for data transfer and display output.
