World's first 5G smartphone is launching on October 25
On October 25, Xiaomi will unveil its latest Mi Mix 3 smartphone. So far, several teasers and leaks have confirmed an all-screen design and sliding camera on the upcoming flagship. However, as per the latest official teasers, Mi Mix 3 will be the world's first commercial smartphone to support 5G and feature 10GB RAM. Here's everything we know about it, so far.
Xiaomi Mi Mix to bag two major smartphone titles
Xiaomi has confirmed via official teasers that Mi Mix 3 will be the "world's first 5G commercial mobile phone." Further, the upcoming Xiaomi flagship will also be the world's first smartphone to come with 10GB of RAM - something OPPO has been working on.
Mi Mix 3: At a glance
Recently, Xiaomi President Lin Bin teased the Mi Mix 3, showing off an all-screen design with an ultra-slim bottom bezel. Hence, we know Xiaomi has removed the front camera from the bottom bezel and instead placed it in a sliding module along with some face scanning gadgetry. However, it isn't clear if the sliding mechanism will be motorized or manual.
Mi Mix 3 will run on a Snapdragon 845 processor
While little is known about the upcoming Xiaomi flagship, rumors suggest the Mi Mix 3 will feature Samsung's AMOLED display with QHD+ resolution. Further, like other 2018 flagship smartphones, the upcoming Xiaomi flagship should be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, with up to 10GB RAM and possibly up to 512GB of storage. Moreover, the front camera is rumored to be a 20MP sensor.
Previous reports suggested Mix 3 will come in two variants
Xiaomi will offer its Mi Mix 3 flagship in two variants - a standard model and a premium variant with ceramic back, according to previous reports. However, it is not yet certain if both or just the premium variant will feature the sliding camera.
Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 tipped to start at $510
The 6GB RAM/64GB storage (Standard model) will be priced at $510 while the Ceramic Edition will cost $660. The 6GB RAM/128GB variant will cost $555 for Standard model and $705 for Ceramic Edition. The 8GB/128GB option will be listed at $600 and $750 for Standard and Ceramic Editions respectively. Lastly, the 8GB/256GB variant will cost $645 (Standard model) and $795 for the Ceramic Edition.
