Microsoft's Surface Duo will let you 'peek' at notifications
Microsoft's Surface Duo, the Android-based phone we saw last year, lacks an external screen for showing notifications. However, the company is making up for this by allowing you to 'peek' at call alerts and notifications. The dual-screen device is tipped to come with a software feature (Peek?) that will let you preview notifications by opening it slightly.
Here's how 'Peek' feature will work
The feature will let you check your notifications by slightly opening the Duo. You will then see a preview bar with all the app notifications as well as time and date information neatly clustered on the right side of the screen. You will also be able to scroll through the notifications and dismiss them by swiping.

'Peek' will also show you call alerts
Microsoft Surface Duo's 'Peek' feature will also show you call alerts. When you get an incoming call, you can open the device just a crack to see the caller's information. To answer or decline the call, you will need to open the device properly.

Microsoft's Surface Duo takes the concept of a tablet-cum-phone to a whole new level, thanks to the different ways in which it can be operated. It features a dual-screen form-factor wherein two 5.6-inch screens are separated by a 360-degree hinge. In a semi-open form, you can use it like a book or open all the way to stack the screens together, like a tablet.

Under the hood, the Surface Duo packs a Qualcomm 855 chip and runs on Android. However, other details about the device are unknown as of now. Meanwhile, Microsoft is likely to launch the Duo sometime around November-December this year.
