Microsoft confirms the date for next major Windows 10 upgrade
It's official! Microsoft's next major update for Windows 10 is set to be released on 17th October this year. The update will include a number of upgrades, with the Windows Mixed Reality software being the major addition. Dubbed as the "Fall Creators Update", it will be released on the same day when Windows Mixed Reality headsets hit the market.

The 'Fall Creators Update' will feature "enhancements in gaming, security, accessibility, and immersive new experiences made possible by Windows Mixed Reality," said a blog post by Terry Myerson, Microsoft's executive vice-president of operating systems.
Microsoft's offering for the holiday shopping season
The Mixed Reality software will be fully integrated into Windows 10 with the new update. The VR software will help the Mixed Reality headsets to function, which, unlike other VR gears, do not require cameras to track user movements. Mixed Reality headset will be priced as low as $299, and is possibly Microsoft's big pitch to customers for the year-end holiday shopping season.
Some of the Fall Creators Update features
Microsoft had reportedly planned for much bigger features for the Fall Creators Update, but most of those have been pushed back to an update scheduled in 2018. This update, however, will feature big improvements for stylus support and handwriting gestures. It will also come with People Integration, allowing users to pin favourite contacts to their task-bar. It also features several minor upgrades.
