Microsoft to host Copilot-focused event on Sep 16
Microsoft is set to host an event dedicated to the "next phase of Copilot innovation" on September 16. The tech giant's CEO Satya Nadella, and Jared Spataro, Vice President of AI at work, will lead this "wave 2" Copilot event. The focus will be on the business aspects of Microsoft's Copilot offerings, and the event will be broadcast via LinkedIn. It will start at 11:00am ET (8:30pm IST).
Microsoft plans to rebrand Copilot
The upcoming event is expected to reveal Microsoft's rebranding strategy for Copilot. The company plans to change "Copilot in Word" to "Microsoft 365 Copilot in Word," and "Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365" will be renamed as "Microsoft 365 Copilot." However, the event won't solely focus on this rebranding but will also introduce new features for Microsoft 365.
New features aim to attract more businesses
Microsoft plans to unveil several new Copilot facilities for Microsoft 365 at the event. The goal is to entice more businesses to subscribe at a rate of $30 (around ₹2,500) per user per month. Earlier this year, Microsoft integrated its Copilot AI capabilities into Office apps and beyond, sparking a debate among businesses about the value of these advanced features for the monthly fee.
Copilot Pro may also see new features
The event might also announce new features for Copilot Pro, Microsoft's consumer subscription service for its AI offerings. Priced at $20 (roughly ₹1,680) per month, Copilot Pro offers similar features to the business-focused subscription in Word. Since its launch earlier this year, it has not seen many new additions and even had a GPT Builder feature removed in June.
