Micromax Bharat Go with Android Oreo (Go edition) launched
As an addition to its series of budget smartphones, Micromax has launched the Bharat Go smartphone in India. First demonstrated at Mobile World Congress in February, the smartphone comes with Android Oreo (Go edition) and costs Rs. 4,399. Bharat Go will cost Rs. 2,399 with Airtel cashback offer
Micromax and Airtel have partnered to offer a cashback of Rs. 2000 as part of Airtel's 'Mera Pehla Smartphone' initiative. Though the Micromax Bharat comes at a price mark of Rs. 4,399, the phone's effective cost comes down to Rs. 2,399 with the offer.

The smartphone features a 4.5-inch (480x854 pixel) TFT display and includes a 5MP front and rear camera with flash support for both snappers. Bharat Go is powered by a 1.1GHz MediaTek MT6737 quad-core processor paired with 1GB RAM, Mali-T720 MP1 GPU, and 8GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 32GB via microSD card. The dual-SIM (Micro+Micro) smartphone runs Android Oreo (Go edition).

The phone packs a 2,000mAh battery which is touted to deliver 6 to 7 hours of talk-time and 170-180 hours of standby time. Connectivity options on the Bharat Go include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, Bluetooth, Micro USB, OTG support, and 3.5mm audio jack.
What is Android Go?
Android Go is essentially a lite version of Android designed for low-cost smartphones with underpowered processors, a modest amount of storage, and less than 1GB RAM. The OS has also been designed to save data and storage and comes pre-loaded with Go-version apps of Gmail, Maps, Chrome, YouTube, Google Assistant, Play Store and GBoard - Google's native keyboard.
