    What's the story

Xiaomi's newly launched 55-inch Mi TV 4X might be a better deal than the premium OnePlus TV. But how does it fare against a more affordable rival like the Motorola TV?

Both models come with bright and sharp 4K screens, latest Android TV OS, Dolby stereo sound, and all the important connectivity options. So, which one is better?

    Here's our head-to-head comparison.

    Information

About the models used in this comparison

The Motorola TV range offers six models starting from a 32-inch HD Ready to a 4K 65-inch variant. Similarly, the Mi TV 4X line-up has four versions: 43-inch, 50-inch, 55-inch, 65-inch, and 75-inch. In this article, we have considered the 55-inch models of these brands.

    At a glance

Motorola TV v/s Mi TV 4X: Design and display

With a non-curved 55-inch screen, metal frame, and ultra-slim bezels, both rivals appear to be quite similar.

The Mi TV 4X gets a 4K LED display with HDR10 support, 60Hz refresh rate, and an in-house image-enhancing Vivid Picture Engine technology.

In comparison, the Motorola TV also offers an HDR10-certified 4K screen with Dolby Vision and a proprietary autotuneX display technology.

    Winner: You decide.

    Information

    Highs, Mids, and Lows

The Mi TV comes with dual 10W speakers along with support for DTS Tru Sound and Dolby Audio. Meanwhile, the Motorola offering packs more powerful 30W speakers and supports DTS Tru Sound, Dolby Audio, as well as 'AmphiSoundX' technologies. Winner: Motorola TV.

    Internals

    Under the hood

The Motorola TV is powered by a 1.1GHz quad-core chipset, Mali 450 GPU, 2.25 GB of RAM, 16 GB internal memory, and MEMC technology that claims to offer blur-free viewing experience.

In comparison, the Mi TV 4X is backed by a quad-core Amlogic Cortex A53 CPU, paired with Mali 450 GPU, 2GB RAM and 8GB of built-in storage.

Winner: Motorola TV for higher storage.

    Other highlights

Motorola TV v/s Mi TV 4X: Features

Under the hood, both the Motorola and Xiaomi television run on Android TV 9 OS, offering access to Google Assistant, Chromecast, and Google Play Store.

Further, both the models support all the latest I/O ports, connectivity options, and come with smart remotes as well. However, the Motorola TV has the added benefit of a bundled free wireless Android TV Gamepad.

    Winner: Motorola TV.

    Information

    Pricing: The key factor

The Mi TV 4X (55-inch model) is priced at Rs. 34,999 while the Motorola TV 55-inch model comes at a slight premium of Rs. 39,999.

    Our verdict

    How things stack up?

Like we mentioned, both these TVs are pretty similar in terms of their design, specs, and features. However, the Motorola TV justifies its slightly higher price with Dolby Vision support, MEMC chip, superior audio, and a free gamepad for playing all the games available on Google Play Store.

    Winner: Motorola TV.
