You can now tag your location when posting on Threads
Meta has rolled out a new feature on Threads. Now, users can tag their location in posts. But here's the twist: it's more about giving a rough idea of where you are, rather than giving away your precise spot on a map. For now, this feature is only up and running on the mobile app and isn't available on desktop browsers.
How does the new feature work?
Threads' location-tagging feature is very easy to use. When you're about to post something, you'll spot a pin icon. Just tap on it, and you can add your current location. However, keep in mind that it won't drop an exact pin on a map. Instead, it gives a rough idea of where you are by sharing details like your city name or neighborhood.
Location-tagging offers a range of options
The location-tagging feature on Threads is quite flexible. You can either go big and tag your entire city or get more specific. Also, if you come across a Threads post that comprises a location, you can tap on that location to see other posts from the same place.
What about its availability?
For now, the location-tagging facility is only available on the mobile app. It's been spotted on iOS, but not yet seen on desktop browsers. However, it's expected to make its way to other platforms soon.
