Meizu launches flagship smartphone 16s with 48MP rear-camera in China
Taking on upcoming OnePlus 7 in the top-end segment, Meizu has launched its flagship smartphone, the 16s, in China. The key highlights of the phone include Super AMOLED display, a 48MP rear camera, an in-screen fingerprint scanner as well as a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor. Meizu 16s comes at a starting price of 3,398 Yuan which is around Rs. 35,300 in India. Here's more.

The Meizu 16s comes with a full-view display with slim bezels and an in-screen fingerprint sensor. On the back, it houses a dual camera setup. The flagship phone has a 6.2-inch full-HD+(1080x2320 pixels) super AMOLED display with 18.6:9 aspect ratio. Also, the screen supports DC Dimming and VDE Blue-light certified protection that blocks up to 33% of harmful blue light.
Meizu 16s gets 20MP Samsung 3T2 selfie camera
The Meizu 16s packs dual-rear lenses comprising a 48MP (f/1.7) Sony IMX586 primary camera with OIS and a 20MP (f/2.6) Sony IMX350 secondary camera. Up front, the phone has a 20MP (f/2.2) Samsung 3T2 snapper. Further, the device offers features like Portrait Bokeh Mode, Dual Super Night Scene, AI scene recognition, AI face recognition, HDR+, portrait blur, and ArcSoft beauty algorithm support.
Meizu 16s is powered by Snapdragon 855 chipset
The Meizu 16s is powered by a Snapdragon 855 processor, paired with Adreno 640 GPU, 6GB/8GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of internal storage. Under the hood, it packs a 3,600mAh battery which supports 24W fast charging and runs Android Pie based Flyme 7.3. Moreover, the phone features the Hyper Gaming technology and mEngine 3.0 which enables smooth and lag-free mobile gaming.
Connectivity options and sensor details
In terms of connectivity features, the Meizu 16s supports dual VoLTE with dual-SIM (nano), LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/A-GPS, and a USB Type-C port. Sensors onboard the phone include an accelerometer, light sensor, proximity, infrared sensor, and gravity sensor.

Meizu 16s has been launched at a starting price of 3,398 Yuan (roughly Rs. 35,300) for its base-end 6GB/128GB variant, 3,698 Yuan (roughly Rs. 38,400) for mid-level 8GB/128GB variant and 4,198 Yuan (roughly Rs. 43,600) for its top-end 8GB/256GB model. The phone comes in Carbon Black, Condensed White, and Phantom Blue color options.
Meizu 16s to go on sale starting April 28
The Meizu 16s is already available for pre-order on the company's official website and a bunch of online as well as offline stores in China. It will be up for grabs starting April 26.
