McLaren brings electric sports car for 6-year-olds
McLaren has expanded its portfolio of exquisite sports cars with the all-new 720S Ride-On, a kid-friendly version of the famous 720S. The fully-electric car looks just like the adult version and has been designed for kids aged between 3 and 6. It comes in as many as seven color options and has been priced at $400, which is Rs. 27,500 in India. Here's more.
McLaren 720S Ride-On looks like its elder sibling
The kid-friendly 720S combines a honeycomb profile with McLaren's signature butterfly (upward-lifting) doors, side aeros, and headlights. Its layered design matches that of the original 720S and retains a majority of its carbon fiber-style elements inside out. The model will be available in Azores Orange, Belize Blue, Lantana Purple, Onyx Black, Mauvine Blue, Silica White, Saros Grey, and an exclusive Papaya Spark color.
Electric motor for driving around
Though 720S Ride-On doesn't churn out 720bhp with a twin-turbo V8 engine, it offers a decent enough ride to keep kids excited. This is partly handled with an electric motor, which operates with a working accelerator pedal and produces a sports car-like engine roar, and light-integrated brakes. Notably, parents can also control the car remotely to give their kids an experience of McLaren autonomy.
Plus, dashboard display has an infotainment system
Along with engine roars, 720S Ride-On even packs a dashboard display that shows important information and provides access to an infotainment system. The system offers a pre-curated list of songs for kids, but parents can plug a USB drive or SD card to play their own selection of music or short movies for the children. This will keep them entertained throughout the ride.
When 720S Ride-On would be available
All color variants of 720S Ride-On would go on sale through McLaren dealerships later this year at $400, which is approximately Rs. 27,500 in India. However, do note that there is no word on the availability of the car in India.
