Want something new? See this Louis Vuitton purse with screen
Just as technology giants continue to integrate foldable panels with phones and smart watches, fashion house Louis Vuitton has used the tech for one of its own products - purse. Yes, as weird as it may sound, the luxury brand has introduced handbags that feature fully functional flexible screens on the outside. Here's everything you need to know about them.
AMOLED displays showing content
At the Cruise 2020 fashion show in New York, Louis Vuitton showed off two prototypes of its flexible-screen purse: one with a single display on the side, while the other with two panels positioned next to each other. The company claimed that these are high-resolution (1920 x 1440 pixels to be exact) AMOLED screens that will serve as the 'digital canvas of the future'.

But, is there any use of these displays
The prototypes shown during the fashion show worked and displayed content that included random cityscapes and, seemingly, an internet browser. They both can also display videos, giving users a fancy new way to consume content on the go. Essentially, "the idea is to think of the handbag as an extension of the smartphone," a spokesperson for the brand told Engadget.
However, no word on other capabilities
While the bag looks both weird and interesting, there's no word what else it would be able to do, apart from displaying content. It is also not clear what kind of flexible panel has been used - an in-house unit or one outsourced from a third party. And then, the question of durability also remains, especially considering the recent case of Galaxy Fold breaking up.
No price tag yet
Louis Vuitton says it's "always in search of the fusion of savoir-faire and innovation" but has not said when or if this 'flexible-screen purse' would go on sale. The luxury label also not declared its price either, but we are pretty sure it isn't going to be cheap. In case you didn't know, it sells wireless earbuds alone at Rs. 1 lakh.
