Logitech devices will feature AI button to interact with ChatGPT
Logitech is set to revolutionize user interaction with artificial intelligence (AI), by introducing an exclusive AI button on its devices. The company has also developed a unique AI Prompt Builder that will be integrated into select mouse models. This groundbreaking feature allows users to interact with ChatGPT, an AI chatbot, at the mere click of a button.
AI Prompt Builder: More than just a chatbot interface
The AI Prompt Builder is not merely a chatbot interface, but offers pre-configured "recipes" that guide users in directing the AI. Once an AI button is assigned to a Logitech mouse, it can be commanded to perform tasks such as rewording text paragraphs, transforming them into bullet points, condensing them for brevity, or adjusting them to meet a specific word count. Interestingly, one of these recipes can even summarize press releases.
Compatibility and limitations
The innovative AI feature is not compatible with all Logitech devices, including older models like the Logitech M557 purchased in 2022. The software only activates when not operating on a browser window. Despite these limitations, Logitech plans to market at least one mouse model with a pre-mapped dedicated AI button: an AI edition of its M750 mouse.
Logitech's special edition AI mouse
Logitech is set to release a special version of the M750, with a pre-mapped dedicated AI button. This unique model will feature a teal-colored key that will instantly trigger the AI Prompt Builder. The AI-enabled mouse will be available for purchase in the US and UK, priced at $49.99 or £54.99 respectively, offering users an innovative way to interact with artificial intelligence.
Future plans and access requirements for AI Prompt Builder
Currently, the AI Prompt Builder is only compatible with ChatGPT and supports English at launch. However, Logitech has confirmed plans to connect it with other chatbots in the future. Access to this innovative facility requires a Logitech device, as the prompt builder is incorporated into the company's bundled Logi Options+ software package.
