Top smartphones coming soon to the Indian market!
The year 2017 has so far seen some exciting smartphone launches globally across various price segments. Several device makers, from Apple, Google, Nokia, HTC, Motorola, OnePlus, Xiaomi, to OPPO, have launched a number of new smartphones, but mostly for global markets. However, many of these phones are likely to hit Indian shelves soon. Here's all about such upcoming phones in India!
iPhone X: Apple's tenth anniversary iPhone edition
Preorders for Apple iPhone X start on 27 October and sale starts from 3 November in India, around the same time as the US. iPhone X comes in 64GB and 256GB storage variants, priced at Rs. 89,000 and Rs. 1,02,000, respectively. It has 5.8-inch edge-to-edge OLED display and is powered by Apple's A11 Bionic Processor. Facial-recognition-powered FaceID replaces the TouchID on iPhone X.
Google's Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL devices
Pre-bookings for Google's next-generation Pixel smartphones, Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, start from 26 October. Pixel 2 will be available in India from 1 November, while the bigger-screen Pixel 2 XL from 15 November. Both the phones come in 64GB and 128GB variants. The 5-inch Pixel 2 is priced at Rs. 61,000 onwards, while the 6-inch Pixel 2 XL starts at Rs. 77,000.
HTC to launch new U11 series smartphones
HTC is expected to unveil two new devices, HTC U11 Plus and U11 Life, on 2 November in Taiwan. According to reports, U11 Plus would run Android Oreo and have a 5.5-inch IPS display, 6GB RAM, and 3,830mAh battery. U11 Life, the smaller version of the high-end U11, is expected to feature a 5.2-inch display, Snapdragon 630 SoC, 4GB RAM, and 2,600mAh battery.
HMD Global likely to launch Nokia 7 in India
Two new Nokia phones, Nokia 7 and 3310 3G, are expected to be launched in India soon. The mid-range Nokia 7 runs Android Nougat and features a 5.2-inch IPS 2.5D display, Snapdragon 630, 64GB storage, and 4GB/6GB RAM. Nokia 3310 3G feature phone would be available in the US from 29 November. While there's no confirmation, it is expected to launch in India too.
Chinese device makers, OnePlus and Xiaomi
OnePlus is going to launch OnePlus 5's successor, OnePlus 5T, in November. It is expected to come with a 6-inch display, minimum bezels, and a rear fingerprint sensor. The recently-launched "affordable" Xiaomi Redmi 5A smartphone would be reportedly launched later this year in India. The dual-SIM Redmi 5A has 5-inch HD display, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, Snapdragon 425 processor, and 3,000mAh battery.
OPPO F5 smartphone to be launched in three variants
Chinese device maker OPPO is finally going to unveil its latest selfie-centric OPPO F5 smartphone in the Philippines on 26 October. Contrary to rumors, not one but there would be three variants of OPPO F5: the standard version, premium 6GB RAM variant, and Youth Edition. All variants will have AI-powered selfie features. The phones would be launched in India on 2 November.
An addition to Motorola's iconic Moto X series
Lenovo-owned Motorola unveiled its Moto X4 smartphone at IFA 2017 in September. It would be launched in India on 13 November, expected to start at Rs. 23,999. It sports a metal unibody, 5.2-inch FHD display, Snapdragon 630, and 3,000mAh battery. It would come in 4GB RAM+64GB and 3GB RAM+32GB variants. It features a dual-camera setup: 12MP+8MP cameras on the back and 16MP front-facing camera.
