These phones are getting the big Android 8.0 Oreo update!
While many Android users are still waiting for the Nougat update, a bunch of smartphone companies has revealed the list of their devices that will get the Android 8.0 Oreo update. Google announced the Android O earlier this year and named it Oreo in August. Its Pixel and Nexus devices first received the update. Check if your phone is among those receiving the update!
A lot of Samsung devices will receive Oreo update
South Korean giant Samsung is bringing Oreo to high-end models like Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+, Galaxy S8 Active, Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge, and Galaxy S7 Active. Samsung's Galaxy A7 (2017), Galaxy A5 (2017), Galaxy A3 (2017), Galaxy J7 (2017)/Pro, Galaxy J5 (2017)/Pro, Galaxy J7 Max, Galaxy C9 Pro, Galaxy C7 Pro, and Galaxy Tab S3 will also get the update.
Devices from Sony, HTC, OnePlus on the list
Sony is going to roll out Oreo to its Xperia X, Xperia X Performance, Xperia XZ, Xperia X Compact, Xperia XZ Premium, Xperia XZs, Xperia XA1, Xperia XA1 Ultra, Xperia Touch, and Xperia XA1 Plus. HTC revealed HTC U11, HTC U Ultra, and HTC 10 will receive the update. Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus will be updating its OnePlus 5, OnePlus 3T, and OnePlus 3.
Micromax is updating a device!
While Nokia said its Nokia 3, Nokia 5, Nokia 6, and Nokia 8 would be receiving the latest Android version, Blackberry revealed its high-end Blackberry KeyONE would also be getting the Oreo update. Meanwhile, Indian smartphone-maker Micromax is providing the update to its Canvas Infinity.
Oreo update for these Motorola, Lenovo, and LG devices
Lenovo-owned Motorola is bringing the Oreo update to its Moto Z/Z Droid, Z Force Droid, Z Play/Z Play Droid, Z2 Play, Z2 Force Edition, X4, G5, G5 Plus, G5S, and G5S Plus. Lenovo devices getting the Oreo update include Lenovo K8 Note, Lenovo K8, and Lenovo K8 Plus. LG is updating its LG G6, LG V30, LG V20, LG Q6, and LG Q8.
Chinese smartphone companies Xiaomi, Huawei
Xiaomi revealed its Mi 6, Mi Mix 2, Mi A1, Mi Max 2, and Mi Note 3 will receive Oreo. Huawei devices like Huawei P10, Huawei Mate 9, Huawei Mate 9 Pro, Huawei Honor 8 Pro, and Huawei Honor 8 will also get the update.
