LG to launch a pocket-friendly W-Series smartphone in India
Taking on the likes of Samsung and Xiaomi, LG is gearing up to launch a new budget range smartphone in India. The South Korean tech giant has teased several key features of the phone, highlighting its customizable notched display, AI enabled triple rear cameras, and most importantly the "pocket-worthy" price tag. As per the teaser, it will be available exclusively via Amazon. Here's more.
The phone will offer a customizable notched display
Going by the teaser, the upcoming smartphone will feature a special notched display which can be customized or hidden according to user preference, thanks to a new software feature. Further, the gradient finished glassy back houses a vertically aligned triple camera array, LED flash, and a fingerprint sensor. Moreover, the phone will be available in Sea Green, Black, and Electric Blue colors.
For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers
The teaser confirms that the upcoming smartphone will offer an AI-enabled triple rear camera presumably a standard sensor, a wide-angle sensor, and a telephoto lens. Further, the camera is teased to offer a bunch of photography features such as wide angle shot, low light, bokeh effect, and portrait mode. However, the specifications of the camera sensors are still unclear at the moment.
Other parameters remain unknown as of now
Details regarding the processor, memory, and storage remain unknown as of now. However, going by the loose translation of a Korean text in one of the marketing materials, the phone will offer a "strong battery", evidently having 4,000mAh or 5,000mAh capacity.
Finally, what about pricing?
As per the Amazon teaser, the smartphone is expected to arrive at a "Pocket-Worthy" price in India. Our guess is it will come at a price range of around Rs. 10,000 - Rs. 15,000. As for the availability of this phone, the report suggests that LG will launch it in India sometime in June itself.
