LG's next flagship 'smartphone Judy' is coming this summer
According to latest reports, LG is planning to unveil a new flagship phone this summer; multiple leaks suggest an altogether different design. Codenamed 'Judy', LG's latest flagship will not be released before June, contrary to rumors that the Korean smartphone manufacturer would release G7, a successor to the G6 model at the Mobile World Congress this week. Here's our roundup on 'Judy.'
'Judy': Design and Features
According to reports, 'Judy' will sport a new design and display with a 6.1-inch MLCD+ technology which will offer 800-nit of brightness while consuming 35 percent lesser energy than an IPS LCD screen. LG is likely to pack a rear dual-camera setup with 16 megapixel sensors matching with f/1.6 lenses. 'Judy' is expected to support HDR 10 and may come with IP 68 certification.
What is a MLCD+ display?
MLCD+ is a display having RGBW (Red, Green, Blue, White) matrix with white sub-pixels (much like the white background in online text). This newer, uncommon technology offers a high brightness rating of 800-nit while using 35 percent less power in comparison to IPS LCD technology.
Under the hood: What else do we know
'Judy' will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 coupled with 64GB of internal storage and 4GB of RAM (a plus model may come with a 6GB RAM). The phone is also expected to have 16:9 aspect body ratio along with stereo speakers and modern-day essentials like wireless charging, digital assistance and support for multiple network bands.
