LG Q9 with Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset, 18:9 display leaked
As an addition to its Q-series of mid-range smartphones, LG is gearing up to introduce the LG Q9 in India. The phone, which will succeed the recently launched LG Q8 (2018), has been leaked in full glory. The phone is said to feature an 18:9 traditional-looking display and run Qualcomm's Snapdragon 660 processor. Here's everything we know about the LG Q9.
LG G9: At a glance
As per the leak, the design of LG Q9 is in-line with other Q-series smartphones. This means, up front, the phone has a traditional 18:9 FullVision display with beefier top and bottom bezels. Moreover, while the display size is not yet known, we expect a 6-inch full-HD+ LCD panel. Lastly, like all recent Q-series smartphones, MIL-STD 810G standard build and IP68-certification should be there.
For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers
Unfortunately, the current LG Q9 leak doesn't reveal anything about the camera. However, considering LG Q8 (2018) came with a single 16MP camera, we can expect LG to upgrade to a dual rear-camera.
Under the hood
The leak claims the LG Q9 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor, paired with 4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB internal storage which should be expandable up to 2TB - like on the LG Q8 (2018). Moreover, the phone is said to pack a bigger 3,550mAh battery and run Android Oreo 8.1 with LG's UI layer on top.
Connectivity options and sensors onboard LG Q9
In terms of connectivity options, the LG Q9 is said to include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/A-GPS, NFC, USB Type-C (version 2.0) and a headphone jack with built-in 32-bit Quad DAC. Further, the phone may come with face unlock feature. Other standard sensors include an accelerometer, proximity sensor, and an ambient light sensor.
Pricing and availability
Looking at the possible specs of LG Q9 and the fiercely competitive smartphone phone in India, the phone is expected to be priced under Rs. 20,000. And at this price point, there are competitors like Xiaomi Poco F1, Xiaomi A2 and Honor Play. Moreover, it is expected that LG Q9 would launch by the end of 2018.
