LG Q9 renders leaked: Design and key specifications revealed
As the successor to the Q8, LG is working to soon launch its latest Q9 smartphone. Back in September, this mid-range phone was leaked in full glory, revealing a notch-free display and other specifications. However, alleged official renders of LG Q9 showing a notch display have now surfaced, suggesting a change in design. Here's everything we know so far.
LG Q9: At a glance
The previous leak revealed that LG Q9 will sport a traditional 18:9 FullVision display. But according to the latest renders, LG has changed the design to adopt a notched display and offer a taller 19:9 aspect ratio. The phone is also likely to get a 6.1-inch display with a full-HD+ resolution. Further, like other Q-series smartphones, it should get military standard build and IP68-certification.
Camera specifications remain in the unknown
Unfortunately, only the front panel of LG Q9 has leaked, giving away nothing about the rear camera. Moreover, the previous leak also didn't reveal anything about the camera. But considering LG Q8 featured a single 16MP camera, we can expect Q9 to sport dual rear-camera.
Under the hood
According to the previous leak, the LG Q9 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor, paired with 4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB internal storage which should be expandable up to 2TB - like on the LG Q8. Moreover, the phone is said to pack a bigger 3,550mAh battery and run Android Oreo 8.1 out-of-the-box with LG's UI layer on top.
Connectivity options and sensors onboard LG Q9
In terms of connectivity options, the LG Q9 is said to include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/A-GPS, NFC, USB Type-C (version 2.0) and a headphone jack with built-in 32-bit Quad DAC. Further, the phone should get a standard array of sensors including a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. The LG Q9 may also get camera-based face unlock feature.
Pricing and availability
Looking at the possible specs of LG Q9 and the fiercely competitive smartphone phone in India, the phone is expected to be priced under Rs. 20,000. And at this price point, there are competitors like Xiaomi Poco F1, Xiaomi A2 and Honor Play. Lastly, it is expected that LG Q9 would launch by the end of 2018.
