LG G8 ThinQ, with veins scanner, to launch in August
LG is all set to launch its flagship G8 ThinQ in India sometime around August 2019, according to a report. The smartphone offers top-of-the-line features including 'FullVision' OLED display, Snapdragon 855 chipset, and 128GB of onboard storage. Interestingly, it also features an IR-sensor-equipped front camera, which LG calls Z camera, that scans the veins in your hand for authentication. Here's more.

Up front, the LG G8 ThinQ sports a notched design with dual front cameras, military grade build quality and IP68 rating. On the other hand, the back houses a physical fingerprint sensor and dual or triple cameras (depending on the market). Further, the smartphone features a 6.1-inch 'FullVision' OLED display with 3120 x 1440 pixels resolution, 19.5:9 aspect ratio and Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers
Going by the report, the Indian variant of LG G8 ThinQ will house dual rear cameras comprising a 16MP main camera and a 12MP secondary camera. However, in some markets, the phone also features a third rear camera which is a 12MP telephoto lens. Up front, it sports an 8MP (f/1.7) snapper along with a 3D Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensor, which LG calls Z camera.
Under the hood
The LG G8 ThinQ is powered by flagship Snapdragon 855 processor, paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. The handset runs on Android Pie OS and packs a 3,500mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 fast-charging technology and 9W wireless-charging support. Lastly, it offers all standard sensors and connectivity options including dual SIMs (nano), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, headphone jack, and USB Type-C port.
And, what's the pricing?
As for the pocket pinch, the LG G8 ThinQ is expected to arrive at a price of around Rs. 50,000 in India. Once launched, it will go up against other premium smartphones in the country such as OnePlus 7 Pro and OPPO Reno 10x zoom.
