Lenovo Z5s with camera hole display leaked: Specifications, design, launch
In the race to launch the world's first smartphone with "camera hole" design, Lenovo has joined Samsung and Huawei. The company's upcoming smartphone, the Lenovo Z5s, was leaked in a hands-on video, revealing the all-screen design with a center-positioned camera cut-out. Further, the phone is set to launch in December itself and was recently spotted on Chinese certification site TENAA. Here's everything we know.
What does the leaked video show?
The hands-on video of Lenovo's Z5s shows a circular camera cut-out. The camera hole is similar to Galaxy A8s and Huawei Nova 4, but positioned in the center and not at the top-left corner. Interestingly, the video also gives us our first look at this new notch-free all-screen design which seemingly looks less obtrusive than the current notches we have.
Lenovo Z5s to launch in December
Lenovo has shared teasers to confirm that it will be launching the Z5s smartphone in December itself. However, the company has not given any date yet. Notably, Huawei has also teased to launch its Nova 4 in December, with rumors suggesting a December 12 unveiling.
Lenovo Z5s was earlier spotted on TENAA, revealing key specifications
As per the listing, the Lenovo Z5s will feature a 6.4-inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio, a Huawei P20 Pro-like triple rear-camera setup, a single selfie snapper, a 3,210mAh battery, and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. Moreover, the phone is also rumored to feature the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8150 processor, but it's unlikely considering we haven't seen this chipset on any smartphone yet.
The race to launch the world's first camera hole-based smartphone
We know Samsung was the first OEM to officially tease the camera hole display on its Galaxy A8s. However, in this race, Huawei and Lenovo aren't left behind either. Both Chinese tech giants have confirmed to launch their respective 'notch-free smartphones' in December. Reportedly, Samsung is also gearing up for a December launch, making the race all the more exciting.
