Will Motorola's foldable Razr phone look like this
Motorola's iconic Razr phone is all set to make a grand comeback in a new foldable avatar. A couple of previous leaks have already given away key details about the clamshell-like design, specifications, and software of the device. And now, Motorola's parent company Lenovo has teased the foldable phone with an edited fan render video. Here's all about it.
A closer look at Lenovo's teaser video
Reportedly, Lenovo recently shared a video of Motorola Razr with the media, showing off its first-ever foldable phone in action. The video, which is an edited clip of a render video based on leaks, reiterates the foldable design of the phone while revealing the hinge mechanism and three color options: black, red and blue.
And, now let's dissect the design
As per renders and leaks, the reincarnated Moto Razr will be a dual-screen folding phone and will open vertically like a flip phone. The external shell will house a secondary screen and a single camera while the internal flexible display will have a small iPhone X-like notch. On the rear, a fingerprint sensor will be concealed within the batwing Moto logo.
Everything we know about the features of Motorola Razr
As far as its features are concerned, the external "closed display" on the Razr won't have full access to all Android features. Instead, it will support some pre-installed apps like Moto Display, Moto Actions, and Moto Camera. Moreover, upto 6 Quick Setting tiles will be displayed on the external display, but it's unclear if users will be able to scroll to see more tiles.
Details about the reported specifications of Motorola Razr
As per earlier leaks, the Moto Razr will sport a 6.2-inch flexible OLED display with a resolution of 876 x 2142 pixels. Some reports also suggest that the phone will be powered by a mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chipset as against the rumored Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 flagship processor. Lastly, it is likely to offer 6GB RAM, 128GB of storage and a 2,730mAh battery.
Motorola Razr's retail box and accessories have also been leaked
Separately, some leaked press renders revealed the packaging of Motorola Razr. The phone will come in a triangular prism-like box containing a bunch of black colored accessories including a wall charger, a USB Type-C cable, a pair of headphones, and a USB-C to 3.5mm audio adapter. The presence of this adapter suggests that the phone will not have a headphone jack.
Motorola Razr could be priced at around $1,500
Regarding the launch of its first foldable phone, Motorola VP of Global Product Dan Dery had earlier confirmed that the company had "no intention of coming later than everybody else in the market." However, given the recent debacle of Samsung foldable phone, launch details are dicey. As for pricing, the Wall Street Journal has reported that the phone could be priced at around $1,500.
