Lenovo launches new range of ThinkPad laptops in India
Lenovo has launched its new range of ThinkPad laptops in India. The new range includes the latest ThinkPad X1 laptops along with new models in the ThinkPad T, ThinkPad X, and ThinkPad L series. The new laptops are powered by the latest 8th-generation Intel Core processors and focus greatly on user security and privacy. Here's our roundup.
ThinkPad X1 Carbon: World's lightest 14-inch business laptop
The ThinkPad X1 Carbon (Rs. 1,21,000 onwards) features a lightweight chassis that is designed using carbon fibre. Its display options range from full-HD IPS to full-HD IPS with touch, and WQHD IPS to WQHD IPS HDR with Dolby Vision. The notebook comes with 8th-generation Intel Core processors (upto Intel Core i7), paired with Intel UHD 620 graphics, 16GB LPDDR3 RAM and 1TB SSD storage.
X1 Carbon gets several connectivity options and full-day battery life
For connectivity, the ThinkPad X1 Carbon gets Wi-Fi 802.11a/c, Bluetooth v4.2, two USB 3.0, two Thunderbolt 3.0 ports and HDMI port, among other options. The 14-inch laptop also packs a 57Wh battery that can deliver 19 hours of usage and supports RapidCharge technology.
The 14-inch ThinkPad X1 Yoga comes with a 360-degree hinge
Like the X1 Carbon, ThinkPad X1 Yoga (Rs. 1,26,000 onwards) also comes with Intel Core i7 processors and Dolby Vision HDR display. The X1 Yoga offers 15 hours of usage on a signal charge with RAM, storage, and connectivity options similar to that of X1 Carbon. Unique to the laptop is a 360-degree hinge which makes it a convertible machine, an integrated pen and Global LTE-A capability.
12.5-inch ThinkPad X280 and 13.3-inch ThinkPad X380 Yoga
Completing the X series, we have the ThinkPad X280 (Rs. 73,000 onwards) and X380 Yoga (Rs. 87,000 onwards) Both the laptops feature Military grade durability and support RapidCharge technology that charges them 80% in 60 minutes. The X280 claims a 16.6 hours battery life whereas the X380 notebook offers up to 13.6 hours battery. Both laptops feature similar RAM, storage and connectivity options.
The 2018 ThinkPad T series gets three new models
Coming to the ThinkPad T series, you get three options: 14-inch T480 (Rs. 69,000 onwards), 14-inch T480s (Rs. 86,000 onwards) and 15-inch T580 (Rs. 74,000 onwards) . The T-range comes with all the security features including ThinkShutter, IR camera and fingerprint sensor. Moreover, all these notebooks have optional discrete graphics power and extended battery options to deliver up to 27 hours of power.
The L380 Yoga, L380, L480, L580 complete the 2018 L-series
In this series, we have 13.3-inches L380 Yoga (Rs. 65,000 onwards) and L380 (Rs. 61,000 onwards) models along with 14-inch L480 (Rs. 54,000 onwards) and 15-inch L580 (Rs. 55,000 onwards). All the models in this series support up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM and 512GB SSD with optional multi-touch display and docking solutions. Notably, the L580 also has an option of discrete AMD graphics.
