Now, this is how Apple's iOS 13 will look like
In a matter of days, Apple will host the Worldwide Developers Conference and announce the next-generation of its software products, including the highly-anticipated iOS 13. The mobile operating system is expected to offer some incredible features. And now, thanks to the folks at 9to5Mac, we have got a glimpse of what it would look like. Let's take a peek.
New dark mode seen in leaked screenshots
Just like Android Q, iOS 13 is also expected to debut a system-wide dark mode. The feature, aimed at improving the user experience in low light environments, has been spotted in screenshots recently obtained by 9To5Mac. As you can see, the mode tweaks the home screen Dock with a grey-ish background as well as enhances apps like Music with a true black theme.
Dark mode will save battery life
Rumors indicate the dark mode will work either from a dedicated toggle in iPhone/iPad settings or from the Control Center. It could also be enhanced with new darker wallpapers, which may save power as OLED display doesn't have to use battery to light-up black pixels.
We also get a look at the revamped 'Reminders' app
Along with the dark mode, the leaked screenshots also show the overhauled 'Reminders' app for iOS 13. The app, as previously suggested, will have a large side-bar, where you'd find dedicated sections called "Today", "Scheduled", "Flagged" and "All". While this will help you sift through reminders, there will also be a search button to look up directly.
What else to expect on iOS 13
Among other things, iOS 13 is expected to offer Swiftkey-like swipe-to-type keyboard gestures, gesture-based undo-redo actions, a redesigned volume HUD, and new multi-tasker animations. Also, the OS will update iMessage and Health apps with newer capabilities (like hearing health and menstrual cycle tracking) and combine Find My iPhone and Find My Friends into a completely new app called 'Find My'.
Enhanced multitasking functions coming on iPad
Notably, iOS 13 will bring deeper multitasking functions for iPad users. Reports have indicated that users of the tablet will be able to run the same app in multiple windows. Each window will be presented in the form of a card which you will be able to move around the screen, stack on top of each other or side by side.
